Pelvic floor physical therapy
involves rehabilitation to the muscles that comprise the pelvic floor, hips, and low back. Pelvic floor muscles help to maintain continence, back, and hip stability, as well as sexual function. Patients will learn how to activate their pelvic floor muscles in coordination with functional movements such as squatting, lifting, and deep breathing. Pelvic rehabilitation can also help with those suffering from chronic pelvic pain, hip, and lumbar dysfunction, post-partum tearing, and diastasis recti.
